Chastain Vets - Where the Health and Happiness of Pets and Their People Are What Count!

We are really all about you and your pet.

Only a truly caring veterinarian can help maintain the physical and mental well-being of your very best friend.

At the Chastain Veterinary Medical Group, you will find only truly caring veterinarians.

Yes! We do care, and we do understand – more than you might imagine. Most good folks naturally tend to think only of happy, healthy pets. Nobody wants to dwell on the possibility of accident, illness or injury. But these things do happen. We’ve thought about them and we understand. That’s why we have designed our approach to pet health care to help lessen surprises. Here’s how:

The Chastain way to a healthy pet and a happy owner:

  • Prevention – Starting with our complimentary new-pet examination, our primary goal will be to help make you aware of any pet health problem that we observe – especially the easily prevented pet health problems.
  • Consultation – We will discuss every detail with you so that together we can make decisions that best suit your situation.
  • Treatment – We will suggest a possible treatment for every existing health problem that your pet may have. And with your approval, we will deliver that treatment with the finest veterinary care and compassion available.
  • Maintenance – Your Chastain team is here to look after your pet’s well-being from birth through life. Our relentless pursuit of knowledge, wisdom and access to the latest in medical technology help us to be there when you and your pet need us the most.
  • Location – With two centers – one at Meadow Brook Animal Hospital, in McKinney, and another at Preston Road Animal Hospital & LBJ, in North Dallas, we really are just around the corner.

Our Staff

All the veterinarians at the Chastain Veterinary Medical Group are general practitioners licensed to practice in the state of Texas. Each is familiar with the most common behaviors, personalities, quirks and disorders in the most common pet species. And some of the not-so-common ones, too! This helps insure that each pet and his or her family will have access to veterinary care when they need it, regardless of type of pet involved or the veterinarian on duty.

Still, the ever-increasing breadth and depth of veterinary medical knowledge makes a certain degree of informal specialization desirable for veterinarians. Consequently, each of the veterinarians of the Chastain Veterinary Medical Group has developed areas of special interest. Both within and across these areas of special interest, the Chastain Veterinary Medical Group takes a team approach to the practice of veterinary medicine.

Each pet, and their family, is encouraged to select one “primary” veterinarian. This doctor will be your main contact. This is the doctor you will see most of the time, barring emergencies. To help solve a particular problem, your pet’s primary veterinarian may at times call upon the knowledge, skill, and experience of one or more of the other veterinarians in the Group. In this way, you and your pet maintain a close relationship with the veterinarian who best understands your needs, desires and preferences. At the same time, your pet has access to the veterinarians best suited to solving the matter at hand and best able to address it most effectively.

All of the Chastain Veterinary Medical Group veterinarians are fully licensed to practice in Texas on all animal species. Unless otherwise noted, the Chastain Veterinary Medical Group veterinarians are not board certified in any veterinary specialty field.
