Dr. Kriti Saxena is a graduate of the Royal Veterinary College in London, UK. She joined the Chastain Veterinary Medical Group family in 2020. Dr. Kriti completed multiple externships and intramural rotations focusing on small animal medicine, surgery, dermatology, and internal medicine. She also participated in several research projects that involved public health topics.
Born in India, Dr. Kriti’s family moved to Canada when she was about 4.5 years old and she grew up close to Toronto. She always loved animals and learning new things. She graduated from the University of Toronto with her Honours Bachelor of Science with High Distinction, and participated in an exchange program in her third year through the University of Edinburgh in Edinburgh, UK. That experience prompted her to include the Royal Veterinary College in London, UK in her list of veterinary school applications. She graduated July 2020 with her Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVetMed), which is the UK equivalent of our Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM).
Dr. Kriti looks forward to creating a sense of community with pet owners and partnering with them to provide the best care for their pets. She has a special interest in Veterinary Public Health, which involves the control, prevention of, and client education on zoonotic diseases (diseases which are transmissible to humans from animals). Dr. Kriti believes that by helping animals she’s also helping their people live healthier lives, and vice versa. She also particularly enjoys soft tissue surgery.
Dr. Kriti is newly moved to the U.S. and looks forward to experiencing all Texas has to offer. She already loves our famous southern hospitality. In her free time, she enjoys reading, exercising, playing the piano, and baking from time to time.
